LANDSCAPE AND GARDEN IDEAS IN/FOR FLORIDA

1. What does it mean that you are a licensed Landscape Architect?

According to Wikipedia:

"A landscape architect is a person who is educated in the field of landscape architecture. The practice of landscape architecture includes: site analysis, site inventory, land planning, planting design, grading, storm water management, sustainable design, construction specification and ensuring that all plans meet the current building codes and local and federal ordinances. The title landscape architect was first used by Frederick Law Olmsted, the designer of New York City's Central Park."

2. What services do you offer as landscape architects?

We are an energetic design firm that specializes in the art and science of landscape architecture. We are here to help you realize your outdoor dreams. Whether you need help with code requirements on a new construction design, or perhaps the renovation of your dream backyard, we are here to help. We provide creative and technical services needed for the success of your project, even if its as simple as a backyard pool and patio design.

3. How much would it cost to design and prepare plans for my         project?

Every project is different, and cost depends of many aspect; the size of project/property, level of detail you want or need, and the project scope elements, such as landscape design, hardscape design, illumination/lighting design, irrigation design, and/or site furnishings, just to name a few.

A simple project can consist in hand drawn sketches with a list of plants to use and, in that case, the cost can be as little as a few hundreds of dollars.

When a more detailed and computer drawn project is needed (one to send to bid and/or submit to the city for permit), the cost can go from one to several thousand dollars. Again, the level of detail and scope of the design and construction documentation plays a big part of the cost. Please, contact us to have a free quote.

4. How do I get started - do you give free estimates?

Yes. We are happy to come out, meet you, listen to your wants and needs, and discuss your project scope. This initial meeting is free of cost. After the first meeting, we will outline and send you a simple to read, outline and proposal that specifies costs for each component of your specific project, along with the terms of our agreement. Now if you live more than 1.5 hours away from us, we may need to discuss travel expenses, but there is no limit to where we will go to assist you!

5. So you work on the design part, what about the construction portion of the work?

We are licensed design professionals, but not general contractors. We are always overseeing projects underway with different contractors and trades, and we can usually recommend those we feel may be a good fit. Once you decide on the contractor or contractors you wish to use, you may still wish to keep us on board during construction to oversee your project and make sure you are getting what you deserve and the finished project as intended.

6. So are you licensed and insured?

Yes we are both licensed and insured, as required, to provide you with the professional services we offer.

7. I have to obtain a landscape permit (tree removal permit, fence permit). Can you help me?

Sure we can help. We are specialized in compliance to the code in all South Florida cities and counties. Contact us and we will free you from what can be sometimes a big headache.

8. My project may be too small, I just want to install a fence, or a new driveway. Are you able to prepare a small project, accordingly to code, so that I can obtain the permit to do so?

Yes, of course! We have extensive experience with most of cities, towns, and villages in South-East of Florida and can assist you in reaching your outdoor dreams.
